{"id":18723,"date":"2024-08-22T18:21:20","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T16:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/comunitamagnificat.org\/2024\/08\/22\/a-father-with-a-mothers-heart\/"},"modified":"2024-08-22T18:21:27","modified_gmt":"2024-08-22T16:21:27","slug":"a-father-with-a-mothers-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/comunitamagnificat.org\/en\/a-father-with-a-mothers-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"a Father with a Mother&#8217;s heart"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/old.comunitamagnificat.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/large\/site\/Cammino_2015-2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">The 2015-2016 walk booklet<\/a><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/old.comunitamagnificat.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/large\/site\/Calendario%20cammino%202015-2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/old.comunitamagnificat.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/large\/site\/Calendario%20cammino%202015-2016.pdf\">The 2015-2016 stage calendar<\/a><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>Jesus Christ is the face of the Father&#8217;s mercy.\nIt has become alive, visible<br\/>and has reached its culmination in Jesus of Nazareth who with<br\/>his word, with his gestures and with his whole person reveals the<br\/>mercy of God <\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The pope reminds us that &#8220;in order to be capable of mercy we must in<br\/>the first place place ourselves in listening to the Word of God.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Responding to this invitation, our journey at<br\/>this year will walk through the theme of mercy through some<br\/>biblical passages from the Gospel of Luke.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>We will start with three parables that tell different aspects of God&#8217;s mercy<br\/>.\nThe first is the parable of the merciful father, the most beautiful<br\/>Jesus gave to universal literature.\nWith<br\/>it we will reflect on the fundamental characteristic of mercy,<br\/>that of being love that surpasses justice.\nThen we will turn to<br\/>the parable of the Good Samaritan, in which we will be led to consider<br\/>the most concrete aspect of mercy: corporal works.\nFinally<br\/>we will address the theme of mercy and judgment through the<br\/>parable of the Pharisee and the publican who go up to the temple to pray.<br\/>Leaving the bank of parables, we will then make the<br\/>acquaintance of real men, in the flesh, who experience the fatherhood and<br\/>motherhood of God by meeting Jesus of Nazareth.\nWe will first fix<br\/>our attention on the figure of Zacchaeus, who was able to overturn<br\/>his own existence after obtaining mercy, esteem and trust<br\/>from Jesus who &#8220;promoted&#8221; him to new life.\nWe will then move on to the<br\/>two disciples of Emmaus: they become the object of a whole<br\/>series of actions on the part of the mysterious wayfarer, their<br\/>companion on the road, actions that are exactly what the Church<br\/>calls spiritual works of mercy.\nFinally, we will meet the<br\/>ten lepers, indeed, one in particular, a Samaritan: he will<br\/>make us reflect on the need to move from the experience of Jesus&#8217; merciful goodness<br\/>to the need to say thank you first<br\/>to God, then also to our brothers and sisters.       <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2015-2016 walk booklet The 2015-2016 stage calendar &#8220;Jesus Christ is the face of the Father&#8217;s mercy.
