 Courage, give the little you have. If you share, God multiplies… Dear Workers and Collaborators of Operation Little Brother Peace to all of you and your families! Every day the Lord renews to us the invitation to care for those who have nothing… even in the summer time, even when it is more than legitimate to take care of even a little of ourselves… Thus, at the opening of this our new Newsletter, I would like to share with you some brief excerpts from the message Pope Francis gave at theAngelus on July 25, as a commentary on the Gospel episode of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, speaking particularly of the little ones: “Even today, the multiplication of goods does not solve problems without just sharing. […] The tragedy of hunger, which particularly affects the youngest children, comes to mind. […] It has been estimated that every day in the world about seven thousand children under the age of five. die for reasons related to malnutrition because they do not have enough to survive on. […] In the face of scandals such as these Jesus also extends an invitation to us, an invitation similar to the one that the unnamed boy in the Gospel probably received and in which we can all see ourselves: ‘Courage, give the little you have, your talents and possessions, put them at the disposal of Jesus and your brothers and sisters. Fear not, nothing will be lost, for if you share, God multiplies. Banish the false modesty of feeling inadequate, trust me. Believe in love, in the power of service, in the power of gratuitousness ‘ “ Courage, then, Operators and Collaborators of Operation Little Brother, do not forget to give the little you have, even at this time of the year… if you share, God multiplies … Happy vacations. May the Lord bless you and protect you always The Executive Team  Solidarity wedding favors A testimony from Marti (PI) Years ago we saw some wedding favors made by the Mayer Foundation in Florence to support the activities of a children’s hospital, and we asked ourselves: “…what if we also did this in Magnificat Community, in support of Operation Little Brother, so that our charitable project is increasingly known beyond the borders of our community?” Then, in our various retreats and on the community website, we were pleased to note how Operation Little Brother has become better structured and how it is now also possible to support a specific project or need, in addition to the general support of the project itself. So as the first time our daughter Clare would receive Jesus in the Eucharist approached, we began to share our idea of ‘solidarity wedding favors’ with the brothers who follow Operation Little Brother in our Fraternity and immediately we received encouragement from them in pursuing this intention, along with free help and support in creating and producing handmade crocheted key chains, instead of buying favors from just any supplier. We then chose, with our daughter, the project that she felt was closest to her heart, identifying health and rehabilitation support for little “Little John” in Uganda as the one to support. We, in addition, made a card to go with the keychain, encouraged and happy that the company that took care of our printing and graphics also decided to offer all their work for free in favor of this project. As we delivered the favors to our guests, it was a joy for us to give pure explanations about our choice, and where given the chance, we also told about the good that does Operation Little Brotherand how Jesus called us to be part of the Magnificat Community. At the end of the party, Chiara and we, her parents, proceeded to send an offering according to our ability to the operating secretary of Operation Little Brother. Praise God for this! We sincerely hope that similar initiatives can be multiplied within our community and-why not-even outside, in the world, where there are so many people who are sensitive to these initiatives. And with the various proceeds to be able to support Operation Little Brother in this way as well, not so much because it is “our” charity ministry, but because of the good it does for the benefit of the poor and needy in so many countries around the world.
