Who we are
The Community was born on Dec. 8, 1978, in the Church of San Donato all’Elce in Perugia, the fruit of the grace current of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
It is a response to a specific call from God to live the new life in the Spirit in a stable commitment.
By placing the Eucharist at the center of personal and community life, Community members commit themselves to building one body, modeled after the first Christian community (cf. Acts 2:42-47).
Experiencing the living experience of the Body of Christ, they recognize as the Community’s main charisms evangelization and the community life itself lived by a large number of brothers – mostly lay people – from all walks of life and backgrounds.
Today the Community has dozens of Fraternities in Italy, Romania, Turkey, Argentina, Uganda and Pakistan and is beginning to take root in other nations as well.
