New statute: final sprint

On Saturday, Sept. 25 and Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, the work of the eighth General Assembly of the Magnificat Community will be held at Tabor House in Agello to launch what is hoped will be the final text of the Statute after the canonists’ revision work, done on the back of suggestions received from the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life.

The 73 members of theAssembly, made up of Fraternity Moderators and Elders, convened by Moderator General Stefano Ragnacci, will be engaged in a series of votes to arrive at some 20 articles of the draft Statute to be sent later to the Dicastery for the desired approval.

The topics mainly under discussion will concern thespiritual accompaniment of Covenants and Covenant Candidates, those most commonly called novices in the Community until now.

Eucharistic celebration and adoration, charismatic community prayer, and discussion among participants will be the sources of discernment to arrive at shared solutions.

May the Lord Jesus and His Spirit, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin, guide this important moment in the life of the Community.
