Tabor House of Prayer - Comunità Magnificat

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples” (Is 56:7).

Tabor House is a house of prayer, not for the exclusive use of the Magnificat Community, but open to all. It is intended to be an opportunity for anyone who wants to deepen their experience of God.

Precisely with this in mind, a large part of the House’s activities have become part of the formation proposal of the diocese of Perugia, and the bishop has appointed a spiritual assistant, thus recognizing it as a formation structure at the service of the diocese as well, while maintaining its full autonomy.

The House offers a variety of activities:

SPIRITUAL RETREATS
The retreats, normally lasting a weekend, take place in a fraternal atmosphere with relaxed times to rest in the Lord and grow in communion with him and the brothers. They include liturgical moments of prayer (liturgy of the hours and Eucharistic celebration), moments of adoration, ample time of silence for personal prayer, catechesis, sharing, along with convivial moments. Continuous, though non-residential, attendance is required for participation.
MEETINGS FOR WEDDING COUPLES AND FIDANTS
Some meetings are directed specifically to couples to help them live out their marriage vocation in fullness.
HEALING MEETINGS
According to the typical spirituality of the Charismatic Renewal and the Magnificat Community, the House offers meetings for inner healing.
TRAINING COURSES
The House offers one- or multi-day training sessions on various spiritual topics.
WORK AND PRAYER DAYS
Throughout the year, work days such as olive harvesting or work for the House itself are offered, punctuated by the rhythm of prayer.
CATECHESIS
On special occasions, especially during strong times, the House offers single or multi-meeting catecheses.
FRATERNITY DAYS
The House offers, on special days, moments of celebration and fraternity, such as on the occasion of New Year’s Eve and Transfiguration, the feast of the House.

In the various meetings offered, participants are invited to live as members of the House, sharing table service and cleaning the dining hall and dishes, in a family atmosphere.

The House has between ten and twenty beds available, depending on whether or not you can reside in a double room.

There is no fee for all events, but a free-will offering for house expenses.

In addition to the above, IN THE PERIODS WHEN THE HOUSE IS PERMANENTLY INHABITED, other opportunities open to all are offered:

the celebration of Lauds, Rosary and Vespers (the latter often included in the Mass) at set times.

The ability to access the house chapel at any time of the day for personal prayer.

The possibility of making a retreat on one’s own, even of several days, while residing in the House.

The ability to have someone available to be able to talk and pray.

The House, on the other hand , IS NOT AVAILABLE for activities that do not respond to the vocation of the House itself: self-management by groups, use of the as a vacation support, etc.
